I have attempted to place before the public a different view of the N. Y. C. subway emphasizing it`s associated elements; nomenclature, lighting, tracts, sustaining machinery. These elements are made more recognizable and intence by the dark and uniform envronment.A dark envionment that enhances color, that allows multiple exposures to give a sense of depth, movement and power, that permits frames of film to be spliced together to give a linear effect.The overhead lighting gives continuity to the essay. Spliced photographs of the cityscape provide a sence of destination.
